Pharmetric Laboratory owes its existence to the visionary ideas of a unique individual, David Kazarian, who serves as our President. A pharmacist by profession, David, along with suggestions from his pharmacy staff, conceived the foundational principles of Pharmetric. Originally, his motivation stemmed from a desire to test his own compounded products. Upon witnessing the reliability and time-saving benefits of Bioluminescence Identification testing, he began marketing it locally in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area to approximately five other pharmacies.
In 2014, David appointed James Brown as the Director of Sales, leading to a surge in interest from pharmacies across the United States. By 2015, approximately thirty pharmacies had signed up with Pharmetric. That same year, Wayne DeHaven, PhD, a former FDA official renowned for his expertise, joined as an overseer. Dr. DeHaven swiftly implemented changes to align some of Pharmetric's practices with USP mandates. Initially, the primary tests offered to clients included Bioluminescence Sterility, Endotoxin, and USP Method Suitability testing. Since then, we have expanded our offerings to encompass a plethora of tests, including but not limited to those featured in a comprehensive Stability Study, successfully conducted for numerous clients.
From these modest origins, Pharmetric has evolved into a multi-million dollar enterprise, boasting a team of over thirty individuals. We are eagerly anticipating a move to a significantly larger facility in the near future, which will facilitate the continued growth and expansion that we strive for. All of this stems from the foresight of our President, a pharmacist who sought to enhance throughput and patient safety in the realm of sterile and non-sterile compounded medications.
